CG has completed a new work for large chamber ensemble entitled A Quick Look Around. At just under four minutes in length it is a reworking of his piece for bass trombone and piano A Short Life. Instrumentation is wind quintet, string quintet and piano. The full score and parts will be available from the Australian Music Centre in the near future.

Peace On Earth

Gondwana Choirs commissioned CG to arrange a new version of his popular choral work Peace On Earth for their 21st anniversary concert at the Sydney Opera House on 4 July 2010. This new arrangement reduces the orchestra to an ensemble of 2 pianos, 2-3 percussion and strings (minimum 2.2.2.2.1) and is suitable for both the original treble voices version and the SATB version. The full score and parts will be available from the Australian Music Centre in the near future.

A Short Life

CG has completed a new and possibly humorous work for Bass Trombone and Piano entitled A Short Life. Written at the request of UK bass trombonist Jonathan Warburton it is just under four minutes in length. Sheet music can be purchased through the Australian Music Centre.

Daybreakers Soundtrack Album January 2010

Onward and Upwards

CG has completed Onward and Upwards, a ten minute piece for children’s choir, adult choir, piano and percussion. Its first performance is 23 January 2010 at the Verbruggen Hall, Sydney, by Gondwana Choirs and Synergy Percussion conducted by Lyn Williams.

Mao’s Last Dancer Soundtrack Album Release - Australasia

The soundtrack album of Mao’s Last Dancer will be released in Australia and New Zealand on 16th October 2009 by Sony. The album contains all of the music CG composed for the film as well as his arrangements and performances of excerpts from three well known ballet classics highlighted in the movie. This rich and varied album features some of Australia’s most highly regarded classical musicians along with an ensemble of Sydney’s leading Chinese musicians.

The soundtrack album will be released in other territories as the film opens around the world.
