Directed by Paul China, produced by Benjamin China and Brian Breheny, it stars Georgina Haig, George Shvestov and Paul Holmes.

CG recorded the score at Trackdown Scoring Stage in May 2011 with 17 strings.

Mao’s Last Dancer wins two Australian Screen Music Awards

maoslastdancer_coverThe score to Mao’s Last Dancer won Best Feature Score and Best Soundtrack Album at the Screen Music Awards Australia, held last night at the BMW Edge Theatre, Federation Square in Melbourne. An ensemble led by composer and pianist Paul Grabowsky performed excepts from the nominated scores including Pas de Deux and Madame’s Model Ballet from Mao’s Last Dancer. The night closed with a performance of Out of the Well and Free Dance conducted by CG. (Hopefully we will have a photo soon)
